NOTICE OF SURVEY ACTIVITY: The Denton County Outer Loop study team will be conducting surveying activities in the study area over the next several months. Activities include conducting aerial photogrammetry, field investigations, and other surveying within existing roadway right of ways. Any activities occurring on private property will be done only with the permission of the property owner. Roadway markers may be observed throughout the study area. These are used to orient surveying equipment and do not represent the future alignment of a potential new freeway. The Denton County of today is different than it was 20 years ago. Just imagine what it will be in 20 more years.
Growth and development continues to move north and east in the county. Improvements will be needed to accommodate the increasing population of our county and our region.
This is why Denton County is partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to study a section of the Regional Outer Loop across Denton County. As a new location freeway, this section of the Regional outer loop would extend approximately 23 miles from U.S. Interstate 35 on the west to the Dallas North Tollway on the east.
We will be working together with residents to prepare for our future, while also respecting our environment and quality of life.
Regional Outer Loop
The Regional Outer Loop in Denton County is part of a larger system of proposed highways that link together to form the Regional Outer Loop, extending east into Collin County, and then south through eastern Collin County, Rockwall County and into Kaufman County.
Study Area
Below is the study area for this project. A small portion of Collin County is included in the study area due to the fact that the connection between the Denton County and Collin County portions of the Regional Outer Loop will have to be evaluated.
